The centre helps a lot in training and empowering women who have suffered a lot and lived in difficult conditions so they can be independent in life. The centre has good facilities to accommodate women for 3 days to a month during which they learn different topics like agriculture, micro financing and small businesses, primary health care,tailoring,adult education etc.
The centre has a Hall to accommodate more than 300 people and helps out in different functions like training, weddings, entertainment, cinema, conferences etc. Women from Luvungi and other villages meet once per week or any time they have a special meeting. There is also a small museum at the centre, a restaurant, media room and a children playroom.
Besides the centre is the Woodward place, a house for accommodation and with another restaurant called Stella Restaurant. The house has 18 self-contained rooms
The Pamela community centre has contributed a lot in improving living standards of women and girls in Uvira District and reducing poverty. Many youths have been kept busy with the movies and cinema at the centre hence bringing development.
