Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA, President of the organization MHCD (Mission in Health Care and Development) had a wonderful visit to HAI Technologies, which is a technology distribution company based in Sydney, Australia.

Luc MULIMBALIMBA was warmly welcomed by General Director Ari AMOILS who manages the Asia Pacific region, and Mr. Daniel who is their lead Business Development Manager for the Asia Pacific. The objective of this visit was for HAI Technologies to present to the Honourable Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA their revolutionary new ophthalmological machine – EyeNJoy – which helps to examine patients who suffer from various eye conditions.

EyeNJoy is currently specialized for examining children up to 17 years of age. The EyeNJoy device consists of a standard Samsung PC tablet, sophisticated eye tracker and 3D glasses. The true innovation about EyeNJoy and HAI Technologies is the use of their Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning – meaning that with each test that is completed, EyeNJoy and the AI becomes more accurate. The device is highly portable (weighs 4kg), easy to handle, can be used online and offline, and even without connection to power.

EyeNJoy examines and screens the following eye conditions: visual acuity, deviated gaze, refractive error, hyperopia, myopia, anisometropia, pupillary diameter, anisocoria, etc.

This innovative device was invented by ophthalmologists and engineers based in Israel, while the device is being manufactured in Switzerland.

General Director Ari presented and explained HAI Technologies and EyeNJoy’s current operations and future plans to Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA. Mr Daniel also discussed EyeNJoy’s current success in various countries where the device is presently in use, such as Israel, Australia, USA, South Africa, Colombia, etc. Furthermore, Mr Daniel presented a live demonstration of the eye exam to Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA.

EyeNJoy is a highly useful medical device that will solve the shortcomings of ophthalmological health in the DRC. The device is best suited for developing countries, where large portions of the populations live in remote areas and would ordinarily never have access to any form of eye care. Currently in South Africa, one EyeNJoy machine is screening hundreds of children per day. EyeNJoy is able to move from town-to-town, examining many children in a timely manner. Therefore, the DRC is perfectly suited to accept EyeNJoy and help as many children as possible.

After Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA’s meeting, HAI Technologies chose Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA and his organization MHCD as representatives of HAI Technologies/EyeNJoy. MHCD will be in charge of distribution in Central and East Africa. The Honourable Dr. Luc MULIMBALIMBA informs the entire population of the Territory of Uvira specifically, and the greater DRC that these machines will be available in the DRC in a few months.
